Mansfield, Massachusetts, April 15, 2022 - Bob Kasle has been named as the new Senior Vice President of Wholesale for Energy New England. Bob is an experienced and curious energy professional with nearly 35 years of experience working on leading edge energy supply issues starting with natural gas deregulation in the late 1980’s, and eventually with the proliferation of independent power generation, Bob has negotiated many PPA’s from CCGT’s, nuclear units, wind, solar and hydro as well natural gas storage and battery storage contracts. His primary focus has been in the New England market, but he has worked on transactions throughout North America, including Mexico and Canada. He has also worked on energy issues as far away as Japan.
Along the way, he acquired advanced degrees in business and in law, and more importantly, has met many talented and interesting people in the energy industry and have learned much from their varying perspectives. He hopes to put all of this to work to continue to contribute to making ENE and its customers among the best in public power.
Bob’s initially plans to focus on:
- Streamlining the portfolio related communications with greater transparency and more input from customers
- An increased focus on specific market data and sharing how that data could impact portfolio strategies
- Greater emphasis on how wholesale operations coordinates with legislative affairs and regulatory affairs to seek and develop products that fit within the net zero initiatives that are ongoing at the statehouse and at ISO-NE
