Energy New England (ENE) is a municipal light plant cooperative owned by six Massachusetts light departments: Braintree, Concord, Hingham, Reading, Taunton, and Wellesley. Established in 1998 to help public power entities stay competitive and efficient, ENE is the leading wholesale risk management and energy trading organization for municipal utilities in the Northeast. ENE Manages power supply & generation for various municipal electric systems across all six New England states. Additionally, ENE partners with businesses, residents, and utilities to promote conservation, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
