Clear River Electric & Water District (formerly Pascoag Utility District) was incorporated by a special act of the Rhode Island General Assembly. As a quasi-municipal utility, Pascoag provides electricity and water on a “not for profit” basis. Clear River Electric is regulated by the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission.

Energy Saving Rebates & Programs
No-Cost Home Energy Assessments
In partnership with Clear River Electric, Energy New England (ENE) provides no-cost Home Energy Assessments for PUD’s residential customers. Our highly trained and experienced Residential Energy Advisors will assess your home’s energy efficiency to identify heating, lighting, weatherization, and rebate opportunities that can save you money on your utility bills.
ENE’s Energy Advisor conducts an in-person or virtual walk-through of your home, inputting information into our energy-efficiency software to create a report for you that analyzes your home’s energy usage, identifies home improvement projects that can lower your energy costs, and links to Clear River’s rebates and incentives.

Energy Star® Appliance Rebates
Appliances have two price tags: purchase and energy cost. ENERGY STAR compliant models typically use 10-40% less energy and water compared to standard models. There are multiple benefits to purchasing ENERGY STAR qualified appliances. They save customers money by using less energy and support the fight against climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

HVAC & Water Heater Rebates
This offer is for a limited time only, subject to availability of funding. Please attach the original receipts, along with the specifications sheet that shows it meets these requirements. Incentives will be applied to your account. For customers to qualify for this program, they must purchase a Central Air Conditioner, Heat Pump system or Heat Pump Water Heater. Weatherization Rebates
There are two eligibility requirements to qualify for weatherization incentives. First, the work (measures) must be recommended in your Home Energy Assessment Report, which will be provided to you after a free home energy assessment. Second, all work must be completed by a BPI-certified contractor. PUD has partnered with Energy New England (ENE) who provides conservation services for the customers of its partnering utilities.

Commercial Energy Audit
Commercial Energy Audits are useful for determining how to save money on energy costs. Audits are free to CREW customers. Each Energy Audit comes with an in-depth report of the audit’s results along with suggestions for improvement. Call the District Office to see if your business qualifies.
